Matt has taken over as General Manager from Rohan Hawker in March 2011. He has been an asset to our business since joining the stable as Racing Manager in 2008, coming across from the North Melbourne Football Club. He has a great understanding of the industry, our business and developing relationships with our clients.
Matt will look to build on the business platform set by Rohan as well as continuing to keep each owner up to speed on their horses’ progress through our industry leading communications systems and protocols.
Gerard Tesoriero - Assistant Trainer

Gerard Tesoriero was promoted to an Assistant Trainer position in 2008 after working with the stable since 2003. In 2008, Gerard travelled overseas and gained international experience working with world renowned trainer Luca Cumani at Newmarket in England.
Apart from being Danny's right hand man, Gerard manages the day-to-day activity in the Flemington stable accompanied by Foremen Ken Torr and Michael Doherty, as well as an impressive team of 30 passionate staff.
Paul Koumis - Barwon Heads Foreman
Day-to-day farm management
Paul has been a valued member of Danny’s team for years. The experienced track rider has been Danny’s travelling foreman for years and he jumped at the opportunity to run the day-to-day operations of the Barwon Heads property. With up to 15 horses in work at present, Paul oversees a vibrant staff at the beachside location and is assisted by track manager James Dalton in the running of the rural training complex.
Karl Brown - Bloodstock Sales Manager

Karl Brown, who joined the team in January 2008 as Bloodstock Sales Manager, provides Danny O'Brien Racing with further experience in the purchasing and sale of horses. Karl has a long history in the bloodstock industry through his experience working for the Magic Millions sales company and compliments Danny's proven eye for the selection of yearlings.
Danny is committed to ensure Danny O'Brien Racing is at the forefront of implementing new marketing and customer service initiatives.
