Tyrannize shows fighting qualities

The Danny O'Brien-trained Tyrannize made it third time lucky at Bendigo, breaking his maiden at his third attempt at the 'Nursery of Champions'.

The O'Reilly gelding, on the rail in the photo, took up the running in the 1000m event and was headed at the 100m, before fighting back to record the win for jockey Steven King.

"It was good to see him get the result as we have always had a good opinion of this horse," O'Brien said.

"Gelding him has certainly made him more genuine and we may take him to town off the back of that performance."

O'Brien has a 1200m event at Flemington on December on the radar for the NZ-bred.
