There is Not A Single Doubt this filly has talent

A filly by leading sire Not a Single Doubt from the family of Redoute’s Choice made her presence felt at Ballarat on Wednesday with an excellent debut victory.

Trained by Danny O’Brien, three year-old filly Summer Sham lined up in a maiden featuring another nicely bred first starter from Team Hawkes in Over and Above, a three year-old gelding by All Too Hard from Group II winning More Than Ready (USA) speedster Olonana.

Over and Above jumped to the lead, while jockey Daniel Moor eased Summer Sham and ended up racing three-wide back in the small field.

Coming around the turn Moor had the filly in a good rhythm and she let down strongly to challenge and then head the favorite.

"It was a really good win. They are two nice horses and I really loved the way my filly wanted to win in the final 50m as at the 200m she cruised up but until I hit her with the whip she really didn't know what to do," Moor said.

"I wasn't concerned as we tracked wide as she was relaxed and the fence is not the place to be today."

Summer Sham is the first foal of Hot Summer Night, a grand-daughter of super producer Shantha’s Choice, the dam of Group I winners Redoute’s Choice, Manhattan Rain and Platinum Scissors.
