Queensland on the radar for Second Bullet

Trainer Danny O'Brien is looking at a trip north to Queensland for a change of luck with quality stayer Second Bullet.

The emerging gelding has finished second three times, one of these being at Flemington last Saturday by a short-half-head (pictured), and third once in his past four starts.

Adding to O'Brien's frustration the total losing margin of all four races adding up to 1.3 lengths.

"This horse is super honest, tough and if not for his riders being a little cute of late we could easily have a picket fence next to his name," O'Brien said.

"I have had the Brisbane Cup in mind for him and I don't see why we wouldn't give him the chance in the Group 2 event."

The $300,000 feature at Eagle Farm is on Saturday, June 11, which will give the son of multiple Group 1 winning mare Private Steer, three weeks between runs.

The Encosta De Lago progeny has won seven races and been placed 11 times in his 29 race career, amassing $349,407 in prizemoney.

"He is ultra consistent and his only attempt at the mile-and-a-half trip was a close second in February, so I have no worries with him running a strong 2400m."
