Now You Know about Champ's little brother

His half-brother is acclaimed as one of the best racehorses in the world, who left our shores after winning not one but two Cox Plates, so it's no wonder there was considerable interest in this Danny O'Brien trained winner at Sale on Sunday.

He is three year-old Elusive City (USA) colt Now You Know, who opened his winning account when powering clear to win the 1600 metre maiden by four lengths.

Having his fourth race start and coming into this off a last start second at Bendigo, Now You Know went forward for Dwayne Dunn in his first try at the mile to be second in running and then took over the lead turning for home.

He quickly extended to open up his advantage and coasted home to win as he pleased.

Now You Know was a $260,000 purchase for his trainer from the Windsor Park draft at the 2010 NZB Premier Yearling Sale and is the eighth winner from eight foals to race for Group II winning Tights (USA) mare Triassic.

Now 21 years of age, Triassic has achieved lasting fame as the dam of So You Think, who has won 12 races, eight of them at Group I level including back-to-back Cox Plates before his sale and transfer to Ireland.

Since joining the stable of Aidan O'Brien at Ballydoyle, So You Think has proved his worth on the world stage in Europe and may soon be given a chance at North America with the Breeders Cup meeting looming large on the horizon on November 5.

As for Now You Know, O'Brien is considering stepping him into listed company for the first time on Oaks Day at Flemington in the three-year-old 1800m event.
