MCNEIL BECOMING A FAV

Jockey Jye McNeil could quickly become trainer Danny O’Brien’s favourite jockey after the Melbourne Cup winning hoop won races in successive rides for the stable. 

McNeil won aboard Basarwa on Thursday night at Pakenham before partnering Treporti to dominant win at Flemington on Friday afternoon. 

“Danny’s is a stable I haven’t ridden a lot for, so to get these results is good and will hopefully lead to more opportunities,” McNeil said.

Treporti has won two of his past three and appears destined for better races given his present form.
