Jaw-dropping stakes win

An ice-cold, nerves of steel ride by jockey Brett Prebble allowed Embrace Me to unleash a jaw-dropping display to claim the Group 3 Typhoon Tracy Stakes at Moonee Valley on Friday night.

After easing back to last from the widest draw, Prebble was attempting to angle to the outside rounding the turn before committing to the inside and threading his way through the field to record the stunning stakes success.

"From the 500m I felt she was always going to win and I just needed to get her clear running and her effort in the end was soft. This filly has bigger things in store," a victorious Prebble said.

Her win was that impressive that Racing.com racecaller Terry Bailey didn't call her name as the winner until after the finishing line.

Trainer Danny O'Brien was thrilled with the win of the daughter of his Group 1 Newmarket Champion Shamexpress. The win was the sire's third stakes winner from his first crop.

"Owner Mark Sowerby has been one of our biggest supporters and to get a stakes success for him with a filly is extra satisfying, and wow what can you say about the ride and the horse? They were both elite performances," O'Brien said.
