DAVIDA PROVES GOLIATH

Sent out as the one to beat at Echuca on Saturday, Davida handed the lofty expectations well.

Jockey Liam Riordan took luck out of the equation for the $1.35 favourite in the 1300m event.

"I rode her as the best horse in the race and she proved it with her all the way win," Riordan said post race.

"It was a win full of merit as I used her up early to take up the forward position, but she was strong late. It was good that there was a horse that stuck with her as she was stargazing a bit and she as we approached the finish she had her ears pricked, so she did have more to give."

The win was the three-year-old daughter of Bivouac's first at start four.
