Bullpit brings up three state city treble

Enigmatic sprinter Bullpit claimed a rare three-state feat when he scored in emphatic fashion at Flemington on Saturday.

The win, courtesy of a courageous ride by Craig Williams, who tracked a path solo down the outside in the 1000m event, made it Bullpit's third metropolitan win in a third different state for the season.

The son of Speed N Power has won at Morphettville, Canterbury and Flemington over the past few months.

"He was always travelling so well out there by himself and when I clicked him up late he took the race away from them," Williams said.

"He is the kind of horse that gets quite aggressive when near other horses, but by drawing the outside gate we were able to track this path down the outside fence and he proved too strong."
