APPRENTICE REPAYS THE FAITH

As a 16yo apprentice jockey Alysha Warren dropped her resume in the letterbox at Danny O'Brien's 13th Beach Training Facility having never sat on a horse. On Saturday in Adelaide, she repaid the faith with a city winner for her old boss.

Warren was able to urge Grinzinger Champ to victory in a driving finish in the 1100m three-year-old BM68 event.

"I am so happy to get this win. Danny gave me a job, taught me how to ride trackwork, gave me my first jump out and gave me my first ride. I am so thrilled today," Warren said post race.

"Also owner John Wheeler also supported me early days as I was learning so if feels great to be able to repay th faith with today's win."

The win was Grinzinger Champ's second in a row and her first city win which is important for the daughter of ill-fated stallion Wootton Bassett.

Her record improves to two wins and two placings from fo\ur career starts
