ALMOST TRIPLE DEAD HEAT For EARL

UK-bred three-year-old Grinzinger Earl most went down in Australian folklore for his first victory when he went close to being involved in a triple dead-heat at Benalla on Friday.

The son of Tamayuz hit the wire in the centre of the three, locked together with Privacy Tour (inside), and only nose away was Expeetee out wide.

Winning jockey Fred Kersley thought he had finished third.

"I thought the third-horse had come over the top and beaten us all, but thankfully I get to share this moment with Billy Egan and I could get the win for owner John Wheeler," Kerlsey said.

"This horse continues to improve with each start and he is a horse that will continue to get better."
