WARREN VICTORIOUS AT TERANG

Budding apprentice Alysha Warren scored her first win for her original boss Danny O'Brien when she was victorious in a driving finish at Terang on Tuesday.

Lady Shalaa's photo finish victory also shot Warren to the top of the leader board in the Rising Star Series.

Warren began her journey in racing by dropping her resume in the letterbox at Danny O'Brien's 13th Beach Training Facility when she was 15 and what started as a weekend casual job has flourished into riding apprenticeship that has yielded 28 wins from 208 rides.

"I am so lucky and thankful to get the support from all the trainer's and owners so early in my career," Warren said, who transferred from O'Brien to Ben Brisbourne after a loan stint.

"Danny's is where it all started and I am so happy to repay some of the faith he put in me with this victory for him."

The win was the four-year-old mare's second at her 10th career start which includes four placings, and bought up a double for the stable at the meeting after Hard Warrior had won earlier in the day.

The win also took O'Brien's season tally to 62, which is equal to his total number of winners for the 2022/23 season.
