Uluru Stud's hot form continues

The hot pink, navy and gold stars of Uluru Stud is on fire at present with Syrahbeel becoming the most recent charge to wear the colours to victory today at Geelong.

Made famous by Newmarket Handicap winner Shampexpress, who raced at Royal Ascot during his career, the distinctive silks are more prominently known at present thanks to quality stayer De Little Engine, who won on Melbourne Cup Day last year.

Syrahbeel, a Karaka graudate, joined the Uluru Stud owned-and-bred One Faster on the winner's list this week, with a strong win over 1000m at Geelong today.

The Savabeel filly was first-up and after settling outside the leader she proved too strong overpowering the race favourite late to pick up the win with jockey Nick Hall aboard.

Trainer Danny O'Brien said he is hoping to make it three winners in just over a week for the stud, with De Little Engine lining up in the Andrew Ramsden over the Flemington's iconic 3200m this weekend.

"Hopefully we can keep the roll for Jeff Dimery and his team going, and if his work this morning was anything to go by he will be hard to hold out on Saturday," O'Brien said.
