TOUGH MARE BREAKS THROUGH FOR CITY WIN

Reflect The Stars broke through for her first city win at Morphettville on Saturday.

Sent-out on an odds on favourite the daughter of Starspangledbanner was made to work for the 2500m win, but when it matered over the final 100m she gained the upperhand for South Australian leading rider Todd Pannell.

Trainer Danny O'Brien was thrilled to get the metro win for owners Rosemont Stud with the five-year-old given she had placed six-times in city races before yesterday's win.

"She has been ultra consistent and we thought she would handle the hit-and-run mission to Adelaide well and it did look like it was a suitable race give her recent Melbourne form," O'Brien said.

"Hopefully she gains confidence from the win and we can place her to effect to win another one or two this preparation."
