SASSY CANTERS HOME AT SALE

Sassy Boom was levels above her opposition as the filly cantered home the final 100m of her race at Sale on Sunday.

Sent out favourite in the 1400m Fillies and Mares BM64 event, jockey Billy Egan settled the three-year-old in the one-out, one-back position before easing her into the clear upon straightening.

"She ambled up to them and as soon as i slipped her some rein the race was over as she burst clear and i could ease her down over the final 100m. I haven't won as easy as that in a while," Egan said post-race.

The daughter of Spirit Of Boom is raced by an All Ladies syndicate and she won the Magic Millions Tasmanian event last February as a two-year-old.

"She has been building to that performance and I am sure Danny will be looking to step her up in grade while she is in this form," Egan added.

O'Brien said he would consider backing the filly up in the Group 2 Angus Armanasco 1400m fillies; event next weekend at Caulfield if Sassy Boom pulls well from this win.
