PRIMED PRINCE PUNISHES RIVALS

Ex-Kiwi galloper Princeofcambridge produced a barnstorming display at Pakenham on Thursday night to score his first victory on Australian soil.

The Bennett Racing owned gelding had put the writing on the wall with his first three starts for trainer Danny O'Brien being placings, but the step out to 1600m saw the son of Super Easy career away for a three-length romp.

Jockey Jamie Mott controlled the tempo of the race after a fast beginning and despite being challenged at the top of the straight, the four-year-old kicked into gear and put a gap on his rivals.

"It was a very good performance as he didn't get around the corner that well, but once we straightened he was very strong and put them to the sword easily," Mott said post race.
