O'BRIEN EYES DERBY WITH CLASSIC DUO

Trainer Danny O'Brien hopes to have a powerful duo lining up in the VRC Derby after the pair placed in Wednesday's Geelong Classic.

Let'srollthedice, pictured centre, and King's Crossing, closest to camera, finished second and third respectively in the traditional Derby lead-up and the master trainer is confident they can feature on the first day of the VRC Carnival.

"I can't wait to see them both at Flemington over 2500m," O'Brien said.

"Both of their efforts were sensational.  Both had there own hard luck stories from yesterday, but they have pulled up a treat and we can't wait for Saturday week."

Group 2 winner Let'srollthedice is guaranteed a start in the time-honoured feature, while maidener King's Crossing will require some luck to get into the field.

"Fingers they both line up as I feel they are both winning chances."
