NICE RETURN FOR FILLY

Trainer Danny O'Brien secured a first-up win with nice filly Paradee on her return to the races at Bendigo on Wednesday.

The daughter of Epaulette had two mediocre runs in September as an early three-year-old before being put away by the Melbourne Cup winning trainer.

On Wednesday,  the filly repaid the patiece of her connections when she produced a strong first-up performance under UK jockey Jason Watson in the 1400m open maiden event.

"Last preparation was really about educating her and that campaign has allowed her to understand what the caper is about and what we saw today was a more mature, rounded filly," O'Brien said.

"She has come back in terrific order and her trials have been very good, so it was satisfying to see her perform today over that trip as we expect that she will be at her peak around 2000m and beyond."
