MORPHEUS MAULS RIVALS

Morpheus Bragi bounced back onto the winner's list with a clinical display at Kyneton on Thursday.

Jockey Fred Kersley was positive from the gates in the 1200m BM64 event and when there was no clear leader he took up the running with the four-year-old never headed as he careered away for the victory.

"I rode him like the best horse in the race and he proved it with a comfortable victory," Kersley said post race.

"He travelled super throughout and coming to the turn I thought they are going to have to be good to beat us as he was smoking along and he gave an excellent kick which put the race away."

The win was the gelding's third from nine career starts.
