MAJESTIC FUTURE AHEAD

After unearthing a debut winner that has a Derby path on his agenda, trainer Danny O'Brien wasted no time in boosting his arsenal for the three-year-old Autumn Carnival features when a race later Majestic Style bolted in at Kyneton.

The daughter of Vadamos scored her first win on the back of two placings to start her career, when she careered away from her rivals to win the 1850m event showing she has huge staying potential.

"We bought her hoping that she would run a trip and get into a staying classic so hopefully she can continue to progress to an Oaks in the Autumn," O'Brien said.

The odds-on favourite was taken straight to the lead by jockey Blake Shinn before being pressured by the $140 shot in the race. Shinn however held his nerve and the lead before she stormed away in the closing stages to win by close three lengths.

"She showed a good turn of foot when I asked her and I love the way she was so strong late despite the early pressure in the race. It was a very good performance," Shinn said.

Majestic Style's silks are no stronger to being successful in an Oaks with owner Jonathan Rosham having won the VRC Oaks with Miami Bound and the AJC Oaks with El Patroness in recent seasons.
