LAFARGUE LOOTS SA CASH AGAIN

Lafargue scored his second Adelaide metropolitan win of the preparation with a nose victory at Morphettville on Saturday.

Jockey Liam Riordan had to earn his riding fee as he had to punch the Capitalist gelding all the way to the line after looking home with 100m to go.

“We were going to win easy, then either the inside horse kicked or he started to look around. I am not sure, but the important thing was he knuckled down to get the win,” Riordan said.

“The guys at the Farm have done a terrific job with him and he loves Adelaide so I can’t see why he can’t come back in 3-4 weeks, up grade and be very competitive.”

The four-year-old has now won four races from 15 starts and close to $150,000 in stakes.
