KINGDOM AWAITS SPEEDY PRINCE

Grinzinger Prince showed he will be competing at a higher level throughout his career after coming from last for a dominant win at Pakenham on Thursday.

The son of More Than Ready made it two wins from three starts this campaign once again highlighting his blistering speed from back in the field.

Jockey Fred Kersley is excited with the sprinting three-year-old's future.

“In the two times I have won on him, we have been back and there has been good tempo on and we have been able to allow the final furlong to be his best one,” Kersley said.

“His racing manners are excellent, he is still raw and green and we probably hit the lead a little early, but he is a horse going places and there is plenty of upside to him.”

Assistant Trainer Beth Schroen said the gelding has benefited from a conservative approach from the stable.

“He just needed time for the penny to drop and learn his caper. He was immature physically so we tipped him out and allowed him to mature and it is starting to pay dividends,” Schroen said.
