KAH GIVES SOVEREIGN A SWEET DRIVE

Gun jockey Jamie Kah increased her lead at the top of the Victorian metropolitan premiership with an outstanding ride to score aboard Sovereign Award at Moonee Valley on Friday night.

Most tipsters were expecting the daughter of Shamus Award to lead in the 1600m BM78 event, however when the five-year-old stepped slowly Kah had to revert to Plan B.

“She was a bit keen early, but she was able to relax in amoungst them, breathe and get into a lovely rhythm. She travelled so sweetly and coming to the turn, I knew she had some gears to go through and it was matter of how far she would win by,” Kah said.

“The win was soft in the end as I only had to urge her along and her effort was excellent. It was the win of horse that can win better races.”

The win was Sovereign Award‘s sixth from 14 career starts, and third from four starts at Moonee Valley.
