HELLARA BURNS HER OPPOSITION

Hellara secured her maiden victory in a commanding fashion at Bendigo on Sunday.

The filly proved too strong for her rivals over 1100m in the three-year-old maiden event under the expert guidance of jockey Jye McNeil.

Hellara made an impressive start, jumping well from the gates and taking up the lead early in the race.

“She anticipated the start really well and she was able to cross and lead without having to do much work," McNeil said post race.

"She then traveled nicely before continuing to build her gallop all the way to the line. It was a good win.”

This race was Hellara's eighth career start and trainer Danny O'Brien is hoping the filly will be able to continue her good form through the summer.
