FUTURE LOOKS BRIGHT FOR MONARCH

One of Cups King Bart Cummings famous one liners was about patience costing nothing, and trainer Danny O'Brien's willingness to give horse's time to mature appears that it could be set to pay dividends again with Future Monarch breaking through at Warrnambool for her first win on Monday.

Being a daughter of Pierro, who was a $420,000 Inglis Easter Sales Yearling, and a half-sister to VRC Oaks runner-up Greysful Glamour, it was unlikely she  was going to be seen in a Blue Diamond, however at the same time O'Brien has been patient and the now four-year-old has put in her two career best runs at her first two starts this preparation.

"You need owners who are willing to support you, and Jock and Stew have been very supportive.  A filly like this just needed time to grow into herself and furnish up, which she has done and her first two runs this campaign have been terrific," O'Brien said post race.

"It was nice to get the result today and we are looking forward to seeing what she can do as she learns more about raicng and as she gets out in trip."
