EXETER CAREERS AWAY AT THE VALLEY

Recent stable addition Exeter recorded his first city win with a stunning front running performance at Moonee Valley to round out the All Star Mile meeting.

Jockey Damian Lane was proactive from the the gate aboard the four-year-old and the result was never in doubt as Exeter romper to 4.25 length victory.

“The wet track was the unknown and riding him forward was as well, but it worked out well in the end as he was never troubled in the run,” Lane said.

Trainer Danny O’Brien said the gelding had been building to the strong performance.

“He has just been building this guy and it’s taken him a while to get fit. We ran him the other night with the big weight and we ran him today off the back up and he has been superb,” O’Brien said.

The win was the gelding’s fourth from 18 career starts.
