DRINKS ARE ON MOETMAN

Consistent colt Moetman showed he could be a horse to watch in the Autumn as he relished a step up in trip at Warrnambool on New Year's Eve.

After three seconds and a fourth from his first four career starts over shorter trips, the son of Sniztel showed a liking for the 2000m distance as he ran away from his rivals to win by more three lengths.

Jockey Liam Riordan, who rode a double for the stable at the meeting, was positive on the well-bred three-year-old and took up the running in the maiden event.

"He was quite keen early so I thought our best option was to take it up and he had a powerful kick at the end which was great to see," Riordan said.

"I think he has at least metropolitan ability and I can't wait to see him against a better grade of rival as I think we will enjoy that challenge."
