DREAM START FOR SAVALONA

The Danny O’Brien-trained Savalona has made the perfect start to her career with a debut success at Colac.

The three-year-old filly by Savabeel came off the back of two trials for tidy win over 1200 metres in the hands of Beau Mertens.

Savalona was a AU$100,000 purchase at the Magic Millions Gold Coast Yearling Sale where she was offered by Bhima Thoroughbreds.

Bred by Raffles Dancers, she is the first foal of the imported Azamour mare El Sagrado.

She was a capable performer who was a two-time winner and runner-up in the G3 South Island Thoroughbred Breeders’ Stakes.

El Sagrado is a half-sister to the dual North American Group 3 winner and Group 1 placegetter Pachattack.
