CHIC PERFORMANCE AT WERRIBEE

Cheval Chic announced herself on Sunday at Werribee with an outstanding five-length victory. 

The daughter of Written Tycoon had always shown Danny O'Brien talent and the Melbourne Cup winning trainer was thrilled with her performance.

"She is a filly that can get quite hot and bothered, but today she handled everything well and I am pleased she could show her best," O'Brien said. 

The four-year-old settled back in the 1100m fillies and mares' maiden event before surging to the win once given clear air by jockey Liam Riordan.

"She was on her best behavior today and she gave me a wonderful turn of foot all the way to the line," Riordan said. 

Cheval Chic has has had five starts for a win and two second placings and is owned by syndicator Bennett Racing.
