CENSORI CREATES METRO SCENE

Trainer Danny O’Brien was able to secure the best metropolitan strike rate for the 25/26 season, on the back of Censori’s courageous victory at Sandown on Wednesday.

The O’Brien stable’s strike rate of 16.30% was the highest of the Top 20 Victoria Trainers for the season on metropolitan tracks. 

“It’s a terrific result. We couldn’t do this without our wonderful crew of owners who put their faith and belief in us and we thank all of them for that continued support,” O’Brien said post-race. 

“It’s an achievement we take enormous pride in given the quality of trainers saddling up runners in Victoria.”

“The result is also a testament to our team across all our venues and it couldn’t be done without their tireless efforts throughout the season.”

O'Brien finished sixth on the Victoria Metro Premiership table with 32 winners from 196 runners.

For Censori, it was back-to-back metro victories and the daughter of Russian Camelot now has three city wins from her six career starts. 

“We have taken her along slowly, but she is really developing and I can’t wait to see her out of a trip in the future,” O’Brien said. 

"I am expecting to continue to develop and next step for her would be in Saturday class early in the new season."

Jockey Lachie Neindorf settled the mare back in the before getting to the outside and getting home in a dog fight with race favourite, Missapprehend despite giving the more favoured a 3kg weight advantage.
