BRUCE WORTH THE WAIT

It’s not often you see a four-year-old debutante in March, but the wait was worth it for Theycallmebruce’s connections as the mare scored an effortless victory at Geelong on Saturday.

The daughter of Street Boss could not have been more impressive after giving her rivals a start before rounding them up and sailing away for a two-length win.

“She has really come on this preparation and has shown us at home she was a horse of some talent, so to see her produce that performance on debut is pleasing,” trainer Danny O’Brien said.

“She is still learning, but to see her do things wrong and still get the result bodes well for her future.”

The win was the first leg of a double for the O'Brien stable.
