BRUCE STAMPS HERSELF AS THE BOSS

Theycallmebruce appears that she was born to run as the Street Boss mare ran all over track on her way to surviving a protest to claim victory at Geelong on Thursday.

The lightly raced five-year-old mare proved too tough in the end of the 1343m event, but she did shift across the track markedly in the final furlong. However stewards deemed that she didn't gain an unfair advantage from her wayward gallop.

Trainer Danny O'Brien said he was trilled to get another result for her patient owners.

"She is only a lightly raced mare but every time she has been to the races she has performed and it was nice to get anther win with her today," O'Brien said on track post-race .

"We always knew it would be a bit tricky from the inside draw, but I think she knew she needed to get out wide to finish off and she has done that and was too strong."

O'Brien said the mare has the ability to measure up to city class and he will look to place her to advantage next start.
