BRAVE BLITZES RIVALS

Cherokee Brave’s performance at Kyneton on Saturday points to huge staying potential for the future.

The son of Saxon Warrior blitzed his rivals by five lengths after settling three-back the fence in the 1856m event for jockey Ben Allen.

Allen was thrilled with the three-year-old’s performance.

“He is still so new to it all, but the fact he was able to win so easily bodes well for his future,” Allen said.

“I was really impressed with his acceleration in the final furlong when he took over the lead and I was very soft on him late, he could have won by further.”

The win came at Cherokee Brave’s fourth start and trainer Danny O’Brien said he was looking forward to testing him against a better grade during the Autumn.

“It was great to see him win in that fashion and I expect he will be better suited out even further in distance,” O’Brien said.
