BLINKERS HARDEN UP THE WARRIOR

Hard Warrior put an indifferent debut run behind him with a slashing victory at his second start at Terang on Tuesday.

After a debut seventh at Bendigo, trainer Danny O'Brien added the blinkers on the gelded son of All Too Hard and the results were immediate as the $40 chance bellied his price to record a strong victory.

"With blinkers applied and some subtle encouragement, he has improved markedly today. The stable identified that he  flopped around and didn't really take part of debut so we made sure that he knew he was in a race today and he was effective late," jockey Daniel Moor said post-race.

"The way he solidly picked up around the turn, I thought we can run in the placings and then late he was really good."

The win continued an excellent week for owners Bennett Racing after they won the Australian Guineas with Southport Tycoon on Saturday at Flemington.
