ALLEN CENTIMETER PERFECT

Jockey Ben Allen produced a well-judged ride at Moonee Valley on Friday night to score back-to-back photo wins on progressive staying mare Tripoli.

After settling back in running, Allen picked his way through the field before getting clear entering the straight although at the 100m it looked like the more fancied Swindon Lass would hold her off. However Allen was able to muster one last effort from the four-year-old mare who wore down her rival right on the line.

"It was a terrific effort as she is a tough mare and she kept giving me an effort," Allen said post race.

"At the 100m, I thought we were going to ran a nice second but every time I asked her she kept digging in and it was a strong win."

The win was the daughter of Crowded House's third from six career starts.

"She is building a nice record and Danny and his team have done a terrific job with her thus far, but I am sure there is more to come."
