The Team

Danny's philosophy has always been to ensure that his staff enjoy their working environment as much he does.

Headed by General Manager Rohan Hawker, a Chartered Accountant who joined the team in early 2005, Rohan manages all business operations. Rohan is also Project Managing the development of our 160 acre training facility at Barwon Heads.

With a strong commercial focus, Rohan has the dedication and expertise to ensure our growth as a business is properly planned and sustained.

Gerard Tesoriero was promoted to an Assistant Trainer position in 2008 after working with the stable since 2003. Earlier last year, Gerard travelled overseas and gained international experience working with world renowned trainer Luca Cumani at Newmarket in England.

Apart from being Danny's right hand man, Gerard manages the day to day activity in the stable accompanied by Foremen Paul Koumis and Ken Torr as well as an impressive team of 30 passionate staff.

Racing Manager Matt Harrington joined the team in June 2008 after four years as Communications Manager at the North Melbourne Football Club. Matt plays a key role in the organisation as he is the central point of contact for owners delivering quality service through regular communications.

Karl Brown, who joined the team in January 2008 as Bloodstock Sales Manager, provides Danny O'Brien Racing with further experience in the purchasing and sale of horses. Karl has a long history in the Bloodstock Industry and compliments Danny's proven eye for the selection of yearlings.

Danny is committed to ensure Danny O'Brien Racing is at the forefront of implementing new marketing and customer service initiatives.
