Long priced move for American in Cox Plate

TAB Sportsbet customers have taken little notice of this morning's barrier draw for the Cox Plate and have backed American eight-year-old Honor In War from $101 into $71 in early trade today despite coming up with the visitor's draw of barrier 13.

The Danny O'Brien trained galloper has been backed to win over $300,000 in a series of smaller wagers and in fact the 5th most popular runner (by $ invested) today behind Racing To Win, El Segundo, Grey Swallow and Miss Finland.

Co-favourites Racing To Win and El Segundo have attracted most support today with 60% of all money invested today on these 2 runners.

Bets of $6,000, $5,000, $4,000 and $2,500 @ $3.50 have all been recorded against Racing To Win while bets of $4,000, $2,500 and a number of $1,000 @ $3.50 have been on El Segundo.

On the other hand punters have shunned the chances of Pompeii Ruler, Red Dazzler, Aqua D'Amore and Casual Pass with little or no interest so far today.
