Shoemark scores treble at Geelong

Eighteen-year-old Irish apprentice Kieran Shoemark repaid trainer Danny O'Brien for his two-month investment in the form of a treble at Geelong on Boxing Day.

The 2kg claimer is apprenticed to Andrew Balding in the UK and is on loan to O’Brien, and his four rides at Geelong were his first for his new master.

Shoemark kicked off his winning account with Moonlight Graham ($8) in the GRC Function & Events Centre Maiden Plate (1100m).

The apprentice then booted Zahspeed ($7) home to a three-length victory in the Racing On Sunday January 4 Maiden Plate (1540m) and followed-up with the win aboard Cincinnati ($18) in the Look For The Green Diamond Benchmark 64 Handicap (1540m).

His last ride for O'Brien for the day, Sterno finished third and O'Brien will be hoping is strike rate for him continues during his stay in the country.
